About Me +
The Creative Process

Shaye Laridian, Principal
Greetings! I'm an award-winning graphic designer with 20+ years of experience developing effective branding, marketing and informational materials across a wide range of industries. I completed my master’s degree in communications design at Pratt Institute in 2006 and spent most of my career in NYC and Boston, working with creative studios, publishing companies, small to large businesses, the fashion industry, academia and government. In 2020 I packed up all my big city experience and brought it to the sunny coast of North Carolina, where I launched Laridian Advertising + Design, serving clients locally and remotely.
I see visual communication as the "functional art" of engaging your audience for a specific purpose. Success requires insight on an empathetic level, and the ability to convert it into strategically tailored solutions.
It begins by asking the right questions...

One of the compliments I hear most from clients is, "Without you I never would have thought to ask these questions or consider these important factors!" My natural gifts for empathy, ingenuity and seeing the broader picture have been some of my greatest assets as a designer.
The Creative Process
1 | Creative Brief
We'll thoughtfully discuss what makes your business unique, your current objectives, and key considerations such as your target audience, marketplace, brand continuity, etc.
2 | Research
Brief in hand, I gather deeper insights on your industry, competitors, trends, etc. to further inform the creative solution.
3 | Design
We'll explore creative concepts and hone the perfect one into your new brand or marketing and communications assets, built on solid strategy.
4 | Production
We'll output your impactful new tools, whether digital or tangible, with a keen eye for quality and detail. Where possible, we'll gather valuable performance metrics.
A great time to connect is... early! Having a visual map for your content helps you to compose it accordingly, facilitating the creative phase and the development of a hand-in-glove design. With my background in English and journalism, I can provide copywriting and editing services if needed.
